October is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar. It is a beautiful month that marks the middle of autumn in many parts of the world. The weather becomes cooler, and the leaves on trees start changing colors to shades of red, orange, and yellow. This makes the surroundings look very colorful and pleasant.
How did the month of October get its name ?
The name October comes from the Latin word “octo,” meaning eight. Originally, October was the eighth month in the early Roman calendar, which began in March, not January. Later on, January and February were added to the beginning of the calendar, shifting October to the tenth month, but the name stuck.
